Recently I heard about the film Children of the Mountain, that tells the story of a young mother who goes to great lengths to help her child that is born with a cleft lip, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome.
This film was written and directed by Priscilla Anany. Children of the Mountain which was shot in Ghana and will be making its International debut at the Tribeca Flim Festival on April 17, 2016. Click here for the listing of times if you are in the area.
This film has some veterans in the Ghana movie industry (Grace Omabo, Akofa Edjeani Asiedu and Adjetey Anang) in it, so I know it will be an excellent film to watch.
I came across a great article where Priscilla talks about the process of making the film with NoFilmSchool.com. She talks about her mother helping her to make this film by giving her a portion of money she had earned from selling her house (that is love).
Below see a trailer for the film.
Children of the Mountain has started an Indiegogo to help raise money to help with post production of the film. If you can do help out.
Hopefully this film will be a success and go far. I’m actually hoping this film will make it to TIFF so I can get an opportunity to see it.
